The Grand Massif downhill ski area is home to 265 km of ski slopes: 20 green slopes for beginners, 64 blue slopes and 50 red slopes and 14 black slopes for experienced skiers & snowboarders. Thanks to its exceptional geographic position near Mont blanc and its high altitude betw. 1000 and 2600 m, the skiing area has excellent snowsure conditions throughout the winter season. 

Les Carroz is a paradise for snowshoeing and cross-country ski. It is the best way to access the most secluded and untouched corners of the Grand Massif mountains. It gives visitors a fascinating insight into the magical winter landscape and is a great way to get out and about in the fresh alpine air.

We can provide information so you can go by yourself or take a (small) group tour with a guide during a day or evening followed by a warming log fire fondue in a refuge (forest cabin) or a teepee.

In the centre of the village of Les Carroz the outdoor ice skating rink in the winter till 15 March. Some evenings you can skate in disco lights and upbeat music, so this disco-skate experience is pretty fun on the ice.

Paragliding is available throughout the year. A wide variety of takeoff sites are quite nearby. Tandem paragliding is what come the closest to actually flying like a bird, the easiest and most accessible way to do so. Canyoning, the thrilling sport of navigating canyons through abseiling, swimming, jumping and climbing, offers some of the most breathtaking and adventurous experiences nature has to offer. An amazing sport that combines many different activities into one, canyoning is a mix of caving, hiking, climbing and mountaineering, cliff diving, whitewater swimming and sliding down natural toboggans (like a slip-slide). Canyoning (also called canyoneering) is an amazing way of pushing your own limits and sharing a great day out with your friends and family.

In the summer, some of the ski runs are turned into biking trails. Get going on extreme terrain and bucket-list views. The Carroz 1200 gondola is open to transfer pedestrians, bikers and bikes up the mountain to 1800m. For more quiet biking, there are many other routes.

What’s a pump track? It’s a track that allows the skater or biker to move without pedaling or putting his or her feet down on the surface. All you have to do is pump your knees up and down, following the contours of the pump track, to move forward. Les Carroz has a larger bikepark with a pump track, a bowl, a skate park and a minigolf on the same site.
